- Average global departures have breached 110,000 per day for the first time since January 2020 (Chart 1)!

Looking at data up to 20 March 2023:
- Average global departures have breached 110,000 per day for the first time since January 2020 (Chart 1)!
- The China re-opening continues. The country has resumed applications for foreign commercial performances, having already resumed issuing all types of visas for foreigners on 15 March. Meanwhile, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, the second international airport in Shanghai, has resumed international flight routes, according to a post on the official WeChat of the Shanghai Airport Group.
- Elsewhere, departures have recovered from last week’s strikes in Europe (+4.0%), with Paris being the leading beneficiary. The number of departures regressed from the US (+3.5% WoW).
